Work History

    Pastor at Hillcrest Parish, U.M.C. from December 2001 to present. Instructor for Thompson Institute from August 2000 to December 2001. Instructor for Compu-Tech (as an independent contractor) from November 1999 through April 2000. Part time adult continuing education instructor for Fulton County AVTS from spring 1997 to spring 2000. Operated Greenfield Technologies (computer support services) since fall 1997. Operated Dairy Nutrition Consulting Services from fall 1986 through May 1993. Provided management assistant as a limited partner for Purndale Farms from June 1983 to March 1999.

Summary (skill usage and development)

As a pastor: preaches, leads worship services, does pastoral visitation and church administration.  

    As an adult education instructor: developed course objectives and wrote lesson plans to achieve them; taught group sizes of 8 to 23 students with widely varying computer skills and backgrounds. Has taught Desktop Publishing, Web Authoring, PC Troubleshooting and Upgrading, Networking with Novell NetWare and Windows 2000 Server.

    As the proprietor of Greenfield Technologies: supports end users dealing with computer software and hardware issues; builds, tests, sells and supports private labeled computer systems; sells and installs branded systems and peripherals; became A+ certified; became a MCP; manages several web sites.

    As the proprietor of Dairy Nutrition Consulting Services: designed diets for livestock. Was responsible for all the usual aspects of running a small business including managing inventories, accounts receivable, accounts payable and dealing directly with vendors and customers. Sales increased each year until the business was sold in May of 1993.

Education

    Graduated May '07 (Magna Cum Laude) with a BA in Philosophy/Religion from Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA. Completed Courses in Windows 98 System Administration, Internet Information Server training, Administering and Supporting Windows NT 4.0, using Front Page 98 , administered by IKON Office Systems, sponsored by Fulton AVTS and Microsoft. Achieved A+ Certification program (for computer hardware service technicians) on own initiative. Earned a Vocational Diploma in Dairy Herd Management, Lakeshore Technical Institute, Cleveland, WI, Spring 1983, class rank 1. Awarded an Associate Degree in Agricultural Business, Pennsylvania State University, Spring 1982; class rank 1.

Community Involvement

    As President of the Wells Tannery Community Park Association: presides over park meetings, organizes Park sponsored community events including the annual Wells Tannery Homecoming and parade.

    As a pastor in the United Methodist Church: leads worship services regularly, prepares and delivers sermons, prepares programs for services for which he is directly responsible, pastoral visitation.
